Studies estimate that 26% of Americans suffer from untreated dental decay. America is one of the richest countries in the world– yet a huge percentage of population can’t afford basic oral health care. Too many Americans have mortgaged their house or ruined their credit score due to needing expensive dental work.

Why are American dental prices so much higher than any other country in the world?

Dr. Pfundheller showed that if a few small changes were made in the dental clinic the patients could receive better quality care at a much lower price. People in the dental field refused to believe the idea. Construction dental companies refused to build The Smile Mission. All banks denied loans to an affordable dental clinic. Eventually after two years and thousands of dollars lost – a small bank, Live Oak Bank, approved the loan for The Smile Mission.
