Pre-Operative Instructions: Implants

Please be aware this can vary depending on location, bone quality, and existing or missing teeth, in case any doubt please contact us.


THE PROCESS:

  • Get you numb & place the implant.
  • Complicated cases -> tissue is moved out of the way & you will have stitches
  • Stiches resorb on their own in 1-2 weeks (Complicated cases).
  • Wait 3-4 months for bone and tissue to heal around and over implant.
  • After 3 months, do measurements of tissue, adjacent teeth & implant
  • 3 days later get final implant tooth

TEMPORARIES:

  • Currently missing a tooth -> might not need a temporary since you didnt have tooth before
  • Tooth in the back -> might not need temporary cause no one will see it
  • Any tooth can get temporary -> usually is a removable temporary (called flipper) for additional cost.
